Special Talk: From the garden to the dinner table

Don Rosenberg, founder of Instant Organic Garden and author of “No Green Thumb Required! Organic Family Gardening Made Easy” will talk about how to make back yard vegetable gardening so easy that everyone can do it – even busy families. Rosenberg, a Charlotte resident, is a local gardening expert and installs raised bed gardens in back yards, schools and restaurants in the greater Charlotte area. He uses his 20 years of organic gardening experience and his knowledge as a NC Master Gardener to take small spaces and turn them into productive, easy to manage, gardens.
His special guest will be Silje Grayston, a personal chef who specializes in using local and organic ingredients. Silje (pronounced “Celia”) is from Norway and has been cooking all her life. She specializes in healthy everyday cooking, a trait she seeks to pass on to others through her personal chef service and cooking classes. Silje has worked as a chef in restaurants all over the world, including a French/Italian gourmet restaurant and an all vegan and gluten free tapas restaurant. She will be preparing a few simple dishes that you can easily make yourself at home, using fresh ingredients from your garden.
